Lucidity Partners Cycle Around the Island: Braving the Storm, Achieving Self-Growth

Cycling around half or the entire island has become a cherished tradition at Lucidity, passed down through the years. By 2024, we had already completed 10 half-island cycling trips, and in October, we embarked on our 7th full-island cycling journey. Although a typhoon threatened to disrupt our plans, luck was on our side—the weather turned pleasantly cool the day before departure, allowing us to set off smoothly.

This journey was not a solo endeavor but a team challenge. Some members took on the role of windbreakers, leading the way, while others stayed at the rear to ensure team safety. Over nine days, we faced intense challenges, especially during the first three days, when strong northeastern headwinds tested our endurance and leg strength. Fortunately, with our captain’s timely guidance and strategic adjustments, we overcame this hurdle. However, from day four onward, constant rain and steep inclines once again put our determination to the test. Pushing through challenge after challenge, we finally returned safely to Lucidity on the ninth day, welcomed by cheers and applause.

This journey was not just a test of physical endurance—it required unwavering willpower. Fighting against relentless headwinds, enduring aching knees and sore muscles, and pushing forward despite exhaustion—these were not obstacles that could be overcome overnight. Before setting off, every member participated in multiple team training sessions and individual practice rides, enduring fatigue and muscle soreness to prepare for this remarkable achievement. This experience truly embodied the Lucidity spirit of embracing challenges and overcoming difficulties.

Beyond the fatigue and pain, the journey was filled with moments of awe—stunning landscapes, deep camaraderie, and the power of teamwork. These experiences cannot be fully understood without living them firsthand, but they serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting one another.
